July 2005 Archives

That's right! I'm in New Hampshire this week and writing to you live from New England!

It's been a fun week so far, hitting the mall, visiting Best Buy (several times), enjoying the great weather... Well, compared to home it's great weather as hot as it's been back there. Here it's been a little cooler and today was a great weather day!

Let's see....Saturday we flew in on Continental Airlines, not my favorite airline but it was actually a pretty good flight this time. Our stopover was in Cleveland so no much excitement to report there :)

Sunday was mostly a rest day and shopping day for us, Best Buy and Barnes and Noble. Picked up issue number 2 of MegaTokyo.

Monday we went to the mall for the first time but only got half of it done before it was time to go. We also went to the University of New Hampshire to watch some realtime video feed of a crew mapping some sea mountains anywhere from 750m to 2000m deep. Two deep diving sub thingies were doing all the work while the crew on the boat controlled and all the video was coming into UNH in HD in real time, was pretty impressive if you ask me.

Tuesday we visited The Christa McAuliffe Planetarium which had some interesting space related activities. We also hit the second half of the mall Tuesday which was exciting.

Wednesday we hit the IHOP for breakfast and then we went to Old Navy and Best Buy again. Then we just kind of relaxed the rest of the day which was nice. Watched a movie and enjoyed the company.

That brings us up to today! We went to the York Wild Kingdom which was really fun, they even have both a Bengal tiger AND a white Bengal tiger. They also have a very cool Deer petting/feeding area. I'll have some photos to post probably after I get home on my Flickr account so you'll have to check back then. Had to go to Best Buy again (yay!) and picked up some batteries.

Not sure what's on the agenda for tomorrow but stay tuned!
EQ2 -- 1 Everything Else -- 0

That's the current score on that business. I decided to try out Everquest 2 again after nearly a year after it came out and I'm hooked. They've made a lot of nice changes and many of them are just little things but it does make a difference. I've joined a guild for some conversation and hopefully I can get some group time in soon. The biggest problem is my little sister wants to play too and since I only have one machine capable of running the game that means she keeps hanging out at my house and bugging me until I let her play sometimes.

Now I'm going to have to take the install DVDs to my Dad's house next week.

Speaking of which, that trip is fast approaching. We head to Phoenix on Friday and fly back to New Hampshire Saturday morning. Not looking forward to the flight, though I have my iBook, a PSP and a Nintendo DS to keep me occupied...plus my iPod if I so decide it's time for some tunes.

OK, gotta go.

Baseball.

Flippin' American League, don't they know they don't even play real baseball? Why do they keep winning!?

There be zombies here!

Got back home about an hour and a half ago from seeing Land of the Dead. I personally enjoyed the movie and most people at the theatre seemed to also. I will say if you're not into this particular genre then I wouldn't bother. On the other hand, if you liked the previous "Of the Dead" movies then you probably won't want to miss this one either. Romero did a pretty good job this time around, but it also signals the end of the zombie genre. After Shaun of the Dead and now Land of the Dead there really isn't much more story to be told IMHO. There isn't a LOT of gore, there are some moments like pulling inards out of people and things like that but it's on screen time is very brief.

Anyhoo, it's late so I think I'm gonna hit the sack soon. Later.

I'm so blogging this.

OK, I just had an interesting conversation on IM with my sister. Her IM name has been changed to protect her...from freaks. :)

9:42:47 PM mysister:
Haha, I just woke mom up a minute ago to kill a flipping tarantula
9:42:56 PM mysister:
I think she's mad at me now....
9:43:25 PM mrdigital:

9:43:54 PM mysister:
Like, flipping huge
9:43:59 PM mysister:
I dunno, about an inch all around
9:44:14 PM mrdigital:
um that's like a giant mutant mega spider from space.
9:44:45 PM mysister:
Yes
9:44:54 PM mysister:
I had to crawl past it to get the raid
9:45:01 PM mysister:
You know, didn't want it to see me and attack
9:45:13 PM mrdigital:
with the laser beams on it's head.
9:45:23 PM mysister:
Yes
9:45:24 PM mysister:
Lol

I'm so blogging this.

I'm going to try a new hosting account through my domain name registrar and we'll see how it is. I like the registry services they provide so I'm hoping their web hosting is just as solid. I'll post my results after I find out.

Happy 4th of July!

Happy belated 4th of July! I had fun, even though I didn't go to the parade or watch the fireworks. I got better fireworks on HDTV anyway.

As of today it's official: I'm going to New Hampshire for a week at the end of the month. Can't wait, gonna be awesome to see my Dad and Linda this summer. I'm not thrilled with flying with Continental but hopefully it's better since we flew with them a few years ago :)

Woohoo!

Got my phat lewtz.

OK, I got my order from ThinkGeek yesterday. Been putting off ordering this stuff for a while, as I've been short on cash but I bit the bullet and have no money now, but I have Bawls!

I also got a couple more shirts for my collection.
